    There’s a lot of visual processing going on behind the scenes. For me they always turn in the direction so that the whiter blobs are leading the darker blobs. I guess this approximates to a peripheral view of spotted discs rotating. As soon as you focus on the disc it’s clearly a static disc with blobs on. Weird!
