I was chatting to the lovely Stubby.
“So, as you’ve managed to arrange to be out of the country on my birthday, how about doing something this weekend instead?”
“Is it the 2nd? I’m not good at remembering dates.”
“No, it’s the 3rd. Don’t worry, though. I’m sure it’ll sink in once we’ve been together for a few years.”
“Hmmm. I’m helping my parents move this weekend, anyway.”
Sheesh! The lengths people will go to just to avoid a date …
