Welcome (back) to the Galleria

As Anna asked so nicely, welcome to the revamped Em3 Gallery.

We start, inexplicably, in the living room (let’s assume you climbed in through the window, ok?). This first photograph is of an August “Sunrise over Southwold“. Much fiddling with the colour, of course, but you’ll get used to that.

Above the (hideous) fireplace is my “Winter fun” oil painting effect taken at Winterton-on-Sea. This is the photo that’s under my desk mat at work … and you’ll see it again later, too. Well - I like it.

Another ‘tweaked’ East Anglian image next, this one’s of Waterloo church, just north of Norwich.

One more photo in this room - it’s the Beach Defences photo from Happisburgh. Four images of East Anglia, then.

Enjoying the tour so far? Good.

Leaving the living room you come face to face with a ferocious feline, many times life-sized. I was a little worried that this was going to have to go over my bed but thankfully managed to find a space in the hallway for Madam!

Turning to your left we get to the 10 by 8 wall. Well, seven of them anyway. Clockwise from the top we have barbecue coals from Cass, WV, the river Wensum on a still Autumn morning, Thurne Windpump, “Americana” from Elkins, WV, a corny image from the Bure valley and autumn frost falling near Thetford. In the centre is my “Bibliophile Heaven” photo, taken outside a second hand bookshop in Norwich.

As you step back to admire the collection, you glance up the stairway to your left. Aha - two more photographs! Climbing the stairs (taking heed of the handrail) for a closer look you see the photos are of a fisherman’s hut at Winterton and of Horsey Windpump.

The guestroom at Em3 Acres has seven of the 21 photographs, six of them in this pair of frames. Yes, I know there are some repeats but it’s too late - your entry fee is non-refundable. On the left, then, are those barbecue coals again, a riverside view of the Greenbrier River (yes, West Virginia again) and that ‘Winter Fun’ pic.

The right hand frame has a view of the Lake Ontario ferry, the apex of the fountain on Centre Island and Boxing Day on Boston Common.

Last (and possibly least) is this Welsh cottage, rebuilt at the Museum of Welsh Life, St Fagans.

This concludes today’s tour. I hope you’ve enjoyed it. What’s that? Why … that’s very generous of you. Thankee kindly, sirs and madams.

Outstanding! Winter Fun and Beach Defences are my favourites; remind me of my childhood. I say charge 5 groats for entrance to the Gallery and throw in a weak cup of tea and positively a rich tea biccie if profits allow.

Em3: Profits? I doubt that there’d be much in the way of profit from an 8p admission charge, Freya. :-)
