I said LogOUT, dangnabbit

Don’t tell Tall Andy, but Croila has been working me hard this afternoon, in spite of my clearly being at death’s door *ahem*.
Well, not that hard, really. All I was doing was clarifying a code snippet I’d suggested she use. Actually it was hardly work at all.
Anyway, testing that what I’d suggested actually […]

We have a winner!

Ladies and Gentlemen (mostly ladies, as far as I can tell from my commenters), we have a winner.
Author of the 1,000th spamless comment for AFS is the lovely Croila.
If you’re Croila, a representative of the AFS Megacorporation will be contacting you shortly with regards to your prize … a fortnight’s holiday in Norway, leaving on […]

Need … a bucket

After a night of watching more come out of my mouth that had gone in, my trip to the Smoke is postponed.
Still no 1,000th comment … but we’re so close I could …
*gulp*
Excuse me …

Need … sleep

I‘ve not been sleeping particularly well this past week or so. No real idea why.
I’m off to the Smoke tomorrow for a night in a 5 star hotel. It’s a hard life.
The hotel is very near the Tower of London so I’m taking the camera and will be hoping the weather in the […]

Gimme, Gimme

Tall Andy’s sent me an email.
Here’s what you need on your desk!!!

Hmmmm. How many days is it to my birthday … ?

Playing with plugins

I don’t know whether you’ve noticed, but the G.B.H.A.A.A.P post has stayed on the top of the pile even though I’ve been publishing the normal drivel.
This is thanks to Owen Winkler’s Adhesive plugin - I’ll take the stickiness off the post once it’s run its course.
The other tweak is that I’ve expanded Owen’s Countdown plugin […]

Hockham

Today was forecast to be the finest day of this long weekend. I hope the forecast was wrong because the weather was hardly conducive to photography.
In spite of the mostly overcast sky there were periods of sunshine, so I set off for a short trip in spite of the weather. Continuing along the […]

Off the beaten track

As I started off for Tesco’s yesterday evening it dawned on me that is was a surprisingly fine evening - I’m a little slow on the uptake at times.
As a result, I took a short detour, heading away from the superstore towards Wretham rather than into Chavtown.

Near Wretham

I hadn’t got far when the scene above […]

The G.B.H.A.A.A.P!

Yes, it’s The Great Bank Holiday Answer And Ask Post!
Nicked shamelessly from Michele Agnew, (and happened upon thanks to an unsuccessful and totally unrelated google search) her explanation of how this works is difficult to improve upon:
It is time to socialize and make small talk??.

Gimme

I have found my next car.
Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
The only drawback that springs to mind is that the trip to Cardiff would be over six hours - and that’s if I could go at its maximum speed for the whole journey. Motorways wouldn’t be fun, either, at a top speed of just 45mph.
Ok, so it’s totally […]

Money to burn

Not real money, of course, but the voucher which arrived this morning.
Courtesy of Gordon Brown’s generosity I’ve paid a visit to PC World today. I didn’t have a choice, ok? The EO version of the HCI scheme was only valid through that infamous chain of spotty teenagers.
One of the problems I’ve had with […]

Project updates

Project WTF - after looking suspect for most of the week - suddenly fell into place from Thursday onwards. Didn’t finish it completely, but almost. Good news.
On the other hand Project Stubby, I’m afraid to say - after looking quite promising for a while - seems to be foundering again.
Oh well.

Words

I was chatting to the lovely Stubby.
“So, as you’ve managed to arrange to be out of the country on my birthday, how about doing something this weekend instead?”
“Is it the 2nd? I’m not good at remembering dates.”
“No, it’s the 3rd. Don’t worry, though. I’m sure it’ll sink in once we’ve been together […]

New additions

I paid a visit to Speedy this morning (as I had an errand to run before work at the post office - that fabulous Bowie CD is now on its way down under, as promised) and collected the last(?) of the photographs.
It’ll have to be the last as the house is now officially full until […]

One World Cup

The orifice is starting to get excited over the forthcoming World Cup.
I wouldn’t mind usually - after all, the more they hype England’s chances, the greater the disappointment when they lose to Germany in the second round - but when Tippler announced “the X pub’s showing the whole of the ‘66 final next week” I […]

It’s not all work, work, work.

Well, maybe it is a little.
I’ve decided to rename the project that’s currently occupying my time “Project WTF” in view of the confusing results I’m getting. It could be me, of course.
Oh, and my back’s decided to play up again.
What a fun week.

Welcome (back) to the Galleria

As Anna asked so nicely, welcome to the revamped Em3 Gallery.

We start, inexplicably, in the living room (let’s assume you climbed in through the window, ok?). This first photograph is of an August “Sunrise over Southwold“. Much fiddling with the colour, of course, but you’ll get used to that.

Above the (hideous) fireplace is […]

Tidying!

Yes, I’ve had a bit of a tidy-up, although this has mostly comprised hanging photos I’d collected from Speedy all those weeks ago but which been sitting in the living room, still in their wrappings.
I now have twenty one of my photos on the walls here at Em3 Acres with two more (plus one of […]
