A glutton for punishment
I was there to collect ‘Mine‘ and a print of a drawing of a Kerr Stuart Wren loco I’d picked up at the Bure Valley Railway’s open day last October.
“Oh, you’ve brought more”, Speedy laughed.
“Yes. I’m clearly a glutton for punishment.”
“When do you need them for?”
“Let’s be realistic, shall we? End of May?”
“No problem.”
“Good. They can be my birthday present to myself then. See - I’ve even built in an extra three days’ leeway.”
The photos I handed over today were ‘End of the working day‘ as a 5 x 12″ vertical letterbox (”Oh, that’s lovely” was the professional response), ‘Shedding light on the past‘ as a 12″ square (”Is this side the bottom?”, Speedy’d asked me) and someone else’s photo - Anna Pickard’s fabulous ‘Canadian Barndance’ photo (right) which has always been one of my favourites, printed in a 16 x 12″ swirl of colour. I have Anna’s permission for this, I hasten to add.
