And back again

Well, that was an interesting brief visit. Now let us never speak of it again.

Before the interruption yesterday I had made one brief stop en route for the broads, at Billingford Mill [map].

Billingford Mill

According to the Norfolk Windmills Trust plaque, this is:

a typical brick tower mill complete with Norfolk boatshape cap, fantail and sails. Built in 1860 … to replace an earlier post mill, it was the last working mill in Norfolk until 1956

I think this means it was worked until 1956 rather than that another mill started working in 1956.

P.S. More numpties on the road today, of course, with it being Sunday but there was much larger demographic variation in the ranks of the middle lane hoggers.
