Peddars Way
I headed south for today’s safari, into darkest Suffolk, to Knettishall Heath Country Park and the start (or end, of course) of Peddars Way [map].
I’d decided to experiment further with the wide angle lens but, en route, spotted an excuse to try out the telephoto lens first. I know the quality’s not brilliant but - considering it was shot into the sun and that the deer were a fair way away from me - I’m relatively happy with the result.

Added on March 5th, 2006 at 7:34 pmWas it at least cold? It looks like it was a beautiful sunny, but very cold day (I’m hoping anyway, hehehehhe).
Em3: The wind was on the chilly side, I’ll admit, but I was perfectly warm enough in my padded jacket and hat, thanks.

Added on March 5th, 2006 at 8:32 pmFantastic photos. What is the sign post about with the rabbits all going to the right? Rabbits to the right and all non-rabbits left, maybe and then we all collide someplace around the world. Ah, forgive me - I’m just a bit whacky today and tomorrow too.
Em3: My guess is that it’s either a “Thar be rabbits” sign or, just possibly, a sign for one of the four trails through the park - there’s a green heathland trail mentioned on the park’s website.

Added on March 5th, 2006 at 10:37 pmWow, what great pictures! The big one in particular, the close-up of the Ridgeway/Peddars Way signpost. Love that one
Em3: Thanks, C. It’s not actually a close-up, though - I just cropped this one (the benefit of a 5.1MP camera …)

Added on March 6th, 2006 at 11:38 amIt’s remarkable we haven’t bumped into one another as you are lurking in all my old haunts! I see you’ve included your Hitchcockian Shadow again… every great photographer needs a trademark!
Em3: Carrying that huge silhouette around with me is getting tiring, I’ll admit. It’s hardly a trademark, though - I see many instances of the photographer’s shadow deliberately included.

Added on March 6th, 2006 at 5:17 pmPCM - I hate to tell you this - It actually means you are only allowed to hunt there with a bow and arrow! And some horse didn’t half give that other post a whack!
Em3: Of course! Why didn’t I realise that?
