Snapping at the bit
As I’ve mentioned before, I’m a member of online photography forum ePhotoZine. As well as the online critique (and the vain pursuit of a Readers’ Choice award for one of my photos :-)), members organise occasional get-togethers around the country.
There’s one planned for Norfolk at the end of February so I’ve tentatively stuck my hand up for this one - should be interesting. The only trouble is that it’s a dawn to dusk affair which I find, thanks to this useful UK sunrise/sunset times site, means it’s going to mean being deep in the (Norfolk) Broads at 06:48 on a Sunday morning with sunset at 17:28. That’s a long day - especially as I’m over 30 miles away from the starting point! <shudders> It does promise to be an interesting day, though, and I’m sure I’ll pick up a lot of hints and tips from more skilled photographers. If all goes well there’s a meet planned for Suffolk a month or so later.
I’ve been looking online for a local camera/photography club and have established that there’s a Windum and Aaalburgh Camera Club which meets on Tuesdays. The website (a regional “parent body”) has no contact details for the club, though - not even a name and phone number. Although it’s only 5 miles away (if that), I don’t really know Windum at all having been there … um … twice in the past two and a half years.
Meanwhile, there’s websites to be updated. At least that give you some peace from my voluminous bletherings for a while …
