It’s 1705 AD …

… and the Fatmanic Empire has achieved world domination.
Admittedly it was only the tutorial, we were only up against Gandhi (and had been given quite a head start) but I was rather chuffed to have achieved this with shedding any blood (except for a pride of lions dispatched at the very outset as the combat […]

Oops … but wait!

… there’s a patch!
Woo hoo!!!
See you all in a week’s time - Fatmania won’t grow itself, don’t you know.

Double Oops

Bugger - My graphics card is not fully compatible with Civ4.

The game loads and, oddly enough, the ‘overlay’ items display perfectly but there’s just no background image.
Bugger, bugger, bugger, bugger, bugger, bugger, bugger, bugger, bugger, bugger, bugger, bugger, bugger, bugger, bugger, bugger, bugger, bugger, bugger, bugger, bugger, bugger, bugger.

Set up!

I was set up on a “blind chat” by Woman who, soon after initiating the threesome, disappeared off to bed. What a naughty minx she is.
This left me chatting to an unfortunate but charming young lady … for quite a while - just look at the time! Luckily for her, she’s on the […]

Oops

the only reason to stop playing Civilization IV is to tell other people just how good the game is - IGN
You won’t want to do anything else but play this, so life has to stand still - Dignews
Week off? Meet Civilization IV. Civilization IV, meet week off.

Kinda cool

Welcome to Slushsville

In spite of snow flurries this morning, the temperature’s on the rise and Norfolk is turning to slush.
Marvellous. No, really, it is.
As I turned out of the house this morning I thought to myself: Gosh, the road’s like a sheet of ice. Hang on, it is a sheet of ice! so anything that […]

She’ll be sorry

“Oh you’re all alone this afternoon.”
“Yes, but you’re just across the walkway, dear JD, so I’m happy.”
“Tee hee.”
“Am I getting scary yet?”
“No.”
“Ok. I’ll keep pushing the envelope then.”
“Tee hee.”
She’ll regret encouraging me.

Let the photographs do the talking

A likely story

Female volunteers wearing hundreds of different types of clothing will have their rears photographed for the research. - BBC News

Yeah, right. “research”.

Pathetic

Suzy asked whether we normally get a lot of snow here in the UK and the answer, of course, is “No”. What we get each year is a dusting of the white stuff which - especially in the south of England - causes panic that might be appropriate were this to be the […]

Too clever

I’m moving my photoblog to PixelPost but it’s going to take a while.
Because of the “clever” stuff I did with the original WordPress template I’m having to transfer the photos individually (and then discovered that pixelpost doesn’t like you changing the site URL so have had to start over again. Aargh - that’ll teach me!

Have you got snow in your area?

… the Met Office is asking us:
Have you got snow in your area? Why not let the Met Office know by telling us where you are and how much snow is on the ground…
Hang on … shouldn’t they be telling us when the snow’s coming rather than have us tell them when (and where) it’s […]

Call that snow?

Pathetic!

I’m back!

I have travelled far and am back in Norfolk - in good time to beat the 15 foot snowfall1 forecast for tonight - to bring you tales (and photos) of my Christmas in Cardiff.
The Christmas fun began with a game of “Hunt The X”, where X represented two items that my father couldn’t find. […]

Dreaming of a paper Christmas

It was just over five years ago that I had a brainwave.
Like most of you, I suspect, Di, Grunt and I had a traditional Christmas meal planned - albeit with a veggie option for myself.
Like most of you we weren’t particularly looking forwards to the washing up afterwards.
If, then, you’re reading this while relaxing after […]
