Misty’s got a Knight in Shining Armour

Tall Andy’s ridden in to the rescue and has kindly agreed to look in on madam next Sunday.

Chatting with Anni last night it seems I didn’t even have my arrival time in Dearborn right. With the confusion over my return date, I’m beginning to wonder who booked this trip!

CC’s confirmed he’ll be arriving on Wednesday with the rest of the Narrow Gauge Madness crew turning up at varying times. I’ve confirmed arrangement with former colleague and football fan Howie (who now lives just 30 miles from Dearborn) so I’ll be meeting up with him on the first and, possible, on the Saturday too.

I haven’t packed yet but then again how much clothing do I need? The forecast is for heat and/or thunderstorms, so I’ll either be scantily clad or sheltering somewhere. Certainly won’t be bothering with warm clothing - just need to be sure to pack my shorts and sandals (with socks optional). As with the last trip, I can always buy anything else I need.

The place has been tidied up (well, as much as could be expected from me) and I’ve set Misty’s food out on the worktop so that Sick/Mandy don’t have to go looking too hard.

I’ve not decided whether to sleep tonight or not - I’m seriously considering staying up, then popping a Nytol as we take off from Amsterdam. Will probably snooze, though, so I’ll be careful to set the alarm for 2 o’clock. The airport’s insisting that check-in is three hours before take-off but that’s just ridiculous at that time in the morning. Knowing my dislike of being late for anything I may be there then but under protest.

I think I may be just about ready. Now if England would just get on with winning this bloody test match. Two more runs …
